Welcome to "Troy Donoughue Music". If you've found this website, you've found my home for my love of music. Songwriting & Creating Music is my #1 passion in life!!! So a brief synopsis: in my musical career, I've been involved with multiple bands, worked with other friends and musicians, written and recorded over 80 original songs, and put together numerous albums, videos, and singles.

Currently, I have been involved in recording music using some new online tools to create original songs, and although most would call it AI, I like to think of it as special online programs which helps enhance the music that I have already written, both lyrically AND musically. All of the songs recorded using these music generated platforms are still 100% my original work and ideas. Nothing is "artificial" when it comes to using my own thoughts!

The music you will find here is very special to me, and nothing is more important than sharing my musical journey. This website is a time capsule that highlights a span of 40 plus years, from a 15 year old kid in 1984 that wanted to start my own Heavy Metal band called "Steel Scream", to becoming a solo artist in 2025 and beyond. Enjoy all the music and memories that each and every song gave me. From "Steel Scream" to now "Troy Donoughue"; from Heavy Metal music and all in between.
With that, enjoy listening to "Troy Donoughue Music"...

"Waiting On John" is releasing their 2nd full length album!!! Following the coat tails to the ballads album by "The Steel Scream Project", "Waiting On John" is releasing an album of their signature synth-based metal sound as a tribute called "The Steel Synth Project"! Six of the eight songs included here are from the "Raw Tracks" album from 2002, and "Journey By Rail" album in 2004. These songs selected were the best ones that could be used as synth-metal versions. The other two songs, "You Can't Fix Stupid" and "See Ya When I See Ya", are brand new songs that were written for 2026.

Back in May of 2026, my alternate ego side project called "Waiting On John" released their debut album. The music style is different than what I recorded under my solo name, and also under "The Steel Scream Project". "Waiting On John" is a Synth Heavy Metal Band from Clermont, Florida. This coming weekend, on August 15th, they will be releasing a new album that celebrates the music of "The Steel Scream Project", but they are releasing songs with the Synth Heavy Metal sound. There will also be 2 brand new recordings, and this is one of them called "You Can't Fix Stupid". Enjoy this new song and get ready for "The Steel Synth Project" album on August 15th.

THE BALLADS OF TSSP: In 1984, the name "Steel Scream" was originally created for a Heavy Metal band. When that band never materialized, I carried the name forward for my solo work, evolving it into "The Steel Scream Project". Most of those early songs were recorded on my keyboard, so the music never fully reached the Heavy Metal sound I had originally envisioned. "The Steel Scream Project" officially retired in 2009. Years later, in 2025, I returned with new music and released them under my own name, "Troy Donoughue". The songs collected here, "The Ballads of The Steel Scream Project" are drawn from my original "Steel Scream" recordings, expanding on the foundation I built with the "Backtrack" album. Now, "The Steel Scream Project" is rising again. Brand new music is on the horizon, and visually, the mascot for "Steel Scream" known as "The Screamer" will continue forward as the face of this new era of the project.

If you didn't know, my alternate version of my solo music that's under the moniker "The Steel Scream Project" made a triumphant return in June with a new album of classic songs turned metal, called "Backtrack". Basically, I rerecorded all my up-tempo songs from my original "Steel Scream" days and turned them into full fledged Heavy Metal songs the way they were originally intend to be. Now, a couple months later on August 8th, I am completing all my older songs which just so happen to be all the leftovers which are all ballads. This new album simply titled "The Ballads of TSSP" will be the 8 songs that were the only ballads I ever wrote and recorded under "The Steel Scream Project" name. This is a teaser of one of those songs called "The Love Of My Life". Enjoy ...

TROY DONOUGHUE: THE BEST of SUMMER 2026

For the last full year, since August of 2025, I have created a lot of Heavy Metal songs using some new online programs that helped me make music the way I've always wanted to. It's been a relatively easy process, but the songs and albums still took time as I wrote the words and music while still working to make them generated exactly the way I intended them to. My first album was "Forged In Metal" that I released on November 11th, 2025 so it would purposely match up with "National Metal Day". For the next 12 months I released six more for a total of seven full length Heavy Metal albums (actually one is called "Acoustic Roots" which is an acoustic album). These 10 songs are being highlighted as the best of the last full year of making music. Due for release on Wednesday, August 5th, this will be my first compilation album and it will be exclusively on physical format only, both on vinyl and on CD. Enjoy the first full year of "Troy Donoughue" Music!

"The Hunt Remains" is the only single off my my first ever Rock Opera called "Westfield Township: The Donoughue Family Saga". The album was written about my family, as our story began in the small colonial town of Westfield, New Jersey. Each song represents a pivotal point for each family member, including me, my brother Bill, my mom, "Dee", and my dad, "Mr. Bill". "The Hunt Remains" focuses on my dad, as he was the President of a riffle association (aka the Gun Club) in Spring Hill, Pennsylvania. My dad would go to the Gun Club to meet other members of the riffle association, and it was there they would go hunting during deer season. Attending the Gun Club was my dad's favorite thing to do as he absolutely loved the sport. "The Hunt Remains" opens up the Rock Opera lyrically to set the stage for how the journey of my family began. The version included on the digital single is an extended version, plus it includes an instrumental version as well. I have also included two alternate versions, one for "Westfield Beginnings" and also for "In The Mouse House".

OUT NOW ON CD AND DIGITAL PLATFORMS. The album I've been waiting to release is finally here! For the last half year, I've been working on and planning this special album:

"Westfield Township: The Donoughue Family Saga" has got to be the absolute best piece of work I have even written and recorded in my entire musical career. All the songs here were written straight from the heart, and all songs are personal life experiences. After my father passed away in November of 2025, I felt the need and desire to finally tell the story of my family poured with love and emotion in a heartfelt and meaningful way. My life's journey began in Westfield, New Jersey, along with my mother, my father, and my brother, and collectively, this is the story of us all, The Donoughue family. All these songs capture what I feel are some of the most pivotal moments that helped shape the character of our lives. I hope you enjoy this album and the story for which it tells...

"Westfield Township: The Donoughue Family Saga" is available in multiple formats; the digital album is available on my SoundClick website, on CD through my partnership with elasticStage, and available to stream on major platforms like "Spotify", "Amazon Music", "Apple Music", and "YouTube" to name a few. Please visit the links provided to view, listen, and purchase. This album means a lot to me, and I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did putting it together. Thank you for taking the time to listen to a part of my life's journey, and please leave a message on my guestbook with your thoughts on the album. Enjoy!

If you knew my Mom personally, then I'm sure you would want to hear this song, and even if you didn't, I believe you can surly connect with it. My Mom's name was Dolores, yet she always went by "Dee".

This is one of the 14 songs on my new album called "Westfield Township", which is a Rock Opera telling the story of my family and some of the more pivotal points of our life's journey. I am so proud to have written this album, and I'm so happy to share it with you all. My new album will be released digitally and on CD this coming Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026 (which is the day I left Westfield and moved to Florida in 1987).

Westfield Township – The Donoughue Family Saga

For anyone who grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, or anyone who’s ever crossed paths with my family, I’m releasing something special, something deeply personal on Wednesday, July 22nd (the day I moved out of Westfield in 1987) — an album called “Westfield Township.”

This project is a full‑scale Rock Opera tracing my family’s story from the day I was born all the way to the present day. It’s a chronicle of the moments that shaped us — the triumphs, the heartbreaks, the quiet turning points, and the loud ones too. Writing it was both the easiest and the hardest thing I’ve ever done: easy because every song came straight from real life, and hard because reliving those memories carries a lot of weight.
Picture
Every track is a chapter of The Donoughue Family Saga, filled with emotion, honesty, and the kind of raw storytelling you only get when the subject matter is your own blood. If you know me, my mom, dad, and my brother, you’ll hear pieces of your own memories woven through it. And even if you don’t, the themes — love, struggle, growth, resilience — are universal.

This album isn’t just music. It’s our story.

(The album pre-release for CD copies will be available on Wednesday, July 15th, and the song teaser will be this Friday, July 17th, for a song about my mom called "Dee".)

So I have a very special announcement... In honor of the USA celebrating 250 years of independence this weekend, I am releasing a FREE single exclusively on my SoundClick website for my song called "Accept My Fate". This song is basically the original version (demo) for the song "For It's The End" that was released back in March on the album of the same name. I like this original version so much, that I knew I was going to eventually release it. So today I give you the free single, and on July 5th, it will also be released on all streaming services on a long EP, which will also contain all the demos, alternate versions, and unreleased tracks since "Forged In Metal"; so basically, all the B-Sides. This single for "Accept My Fate" also has an instrumental version, plus it contains an alternate version of "For It's The End" with an accompanied instrumental version for that one as well. Enjoy this FREE single, and look for the long EP on July 5th. Have a HAPPY 4th of July!!!

Welcome to the very first Heavy Metal album by "The Steel Scream Project"!!!
After a 2-3 year hiatus, "The Steel Scream Project" is back with it's first album release since "More Salvaged Pieces" in September of 2023. This album called "Backtrack" is also the first release of newly produced music since "Journey By Rail" in 2004. With advanced technology, and the use of online tools, I was able to recreate and basically mimic all of the old songs by "The Steel Scream Project". In addition, this album focuses on all of the songs that were up tempo, along with some instrumentals that were compiled together to make the very first fully complete Heavy Metal album using "The Steel Scream Project" name. "Backtrack" is just that, a return to the roots for "The Steel Scream Project" and all of the songs that were written and recorded in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Enjoy this album, and the triumphant return of all the classic songs by "The Steel Scream Project", now in their true Heavy Metal fashion.

So, back in October of 1992, I wrote this song called "You Don't Understand" in like 3 days, I recorded it on my boom box and released it in 2002 under my band name "The Steel Scream Project". The song is about people not accepting and understanding you for being yourself, and how they have to make you feel horrible for it. This is still one of the best songs I have ever written and recorded, and now in 2026, I am releasing it once again as a "Steel Scream" song.

With the new online tools I'm using, this new version of the song came out EXACTLY the same but has been updated as a full fledged HEAVY METAL song! Check out the video and check out the link provided for the original version to tell the difference, it will surely blow your mind.

"A Dream Come True" is the official single off the "Sentimental Suicide" album that was released on June 6th, 2026. This special online only single is a slightly edited version, plus it also consists of 2 songs on "Sentimental Suicide" as acoustic versions as well. In 1996, "A Dream Come True" was originally recorded by "T.E.D.", which is a small band I was part of, and we recorded it as an acoustic song, so it only made sense to record this version as well. The same goes for "One Too Many Wishes", as that song has seen a few variations in it's past, including an acoustic version that was performed by Doodle in the mid 1990's. To complete the single, I have also included a metal version of "Lovestruck", which ended up as an acoustic version on "Acoustic Roots", and I felt it needed a Heavy Metal version just like the rest of the songs that were recreated from the "Raw Tracks" album.

After completing my last two Heavy Metal albums with all brand new original material, I decided to go back and do the same thing I did with "Steel Scream", and recreate all my original songs from "The Steel Scream Project". This time I revisited "Journey By Rail" and updated them as proper Heavy Metal versions, all while still keeping the same piano-based theme. With that being said, this makes my 6th full length album and my 5th Heavy Metal album, called "Sentimental Suicide". NOW let me say this, I do NOT - NOT condone suicide!!! This song was written as a metaphor, which is about depression (or basically internal suicide). I wrote this song in 2000, and after the band "Insult 2 Injury" used my lyrics and changed it to "Welcome To The End", I decided to finally bring it back to the way it was always intended to be. "Welcome To The End" was recorded by "Insult 2 Injury" at Real to Reel Studios in Bartow, Florida on June 6th, 2000. To honor that day, "Sentimental Suicide" is now released on June 6th, 2026 as well. - Troy \m/

In early 2000, I wrote the lyrics to a song about the effects of someone experiencing severe depression and I called it "Sentimental Suicide". I shared this with a Heavy Metal band whom I was friends with called "Insult 2 Injury", and they liked it so much that they asked if they can use my lyrics to an existing song they had called "Welcome To The End". On June 6th, 2000, they invited me to Real to Reel Studios in Bartow, Florida where they recorded the song. This would make the only song lyrics I ever wrote recorded professionally in a studio. Now in 2026, and on the anniversary date of when it was first recorded, I am releasing my version the way it was originally intended to be. Once again, this song is NOT ABOUT suicide, it's about depression. I DO NOT condone suicide!!!

As a songwriter and a lyricist, I usually write songs about relationships, life's experiences, or serious issues. With that said, back in the year 2000, I wrote a song called "Sentimental Suicide", which is a song about depression, and that song would eventually be recorded by a band called "Insult 2 Injury" and renamed "Welcome To The End". Well, next weekend, on June 6th, I will be releasing my original idea of that song on a new album with the same name; and this coming Wednesday, I will be teasing the song as well.
But please know this... This song is about someone experiencing depression, NOT about suicide. I DO NOT condone suicide!!! It's about INTERNAL SUICIDE, which is my metaphor for depression. I take this song very seriously, and it's a song that I'm very proud to have written. If anything, I only hope it helps with anyone who struggles with depression, aka "Sentimental Suicide"!

THE WAIT IS OVER!!! "Waiting On John" is the official side project of "Troy Donoughue"! Joining forces with John (and that's just John, as John has no last name), they have joined forces to collaborate on an experimental / out of the box Heavy Metal project... "Synthesized Electronic Metal"!
Ok, so being serious, this is still considered a "Troy Donoughue" solo effort, although it's basically just a fun idea for a band name that I always wanted to use, and this way I could create a concept album using that name. The story is this: The lead singer's name is John, and he hasn't arrived to the show yet, so another band member comes to the stage and tells the crowd "Hello folks, we'll be on in a minute... We're Waiting on John". With that said, this is the title track to the debut album by "Waiting On John". This single, which is being released on Memorial Day, was also chosen to highlight two of the extra songs on the single, the instrumental version of "What's So Civil About Civil War!?" and "The Tale Of Ponce De Leon"; two songs about historic moments in American history. "The Tale Of Ponce De Leon" is an extended version which is about 11.5 minutes long. Enjoy these songs while you're "Waiting On John"!

So, with Troy taking the helm as producer, their debut album featured here is self titled, simply called "Waiting On John". The band's musical style is a synth-based sound to deeper enrich and enhance the Heavy Metal genre. Enjoy this fun concept, and this alternative style of Troy's Heavy Metal.

"Waiting On John" is a Synth Heavy Metal Band from Clermont, Florida... well, sorta... they're actually a band name I always wanted to use since the 1990's. Me and some friends were coming up with band names, and as a joke, we came up with "Waiting On John", which was a band who was waiting for their lead singer to arrive to the show. They were ready to play, they are just ... "Waiting On John"! Anyway, while I was writing "Nightmares Calling" for my latest Heavy Metal album, "Spacetime Continuum", I created a "Synth Metal Version" and it was then I had this idea to write and create an album of "Synth Metal" songs, and use the "Waiting On John" name. So here it is, one of the songs off the upcoming album to be released on May 21st, 2026. This is "Into The Void".

If you haven't listened to any of my songs yet, well then this is the one! This 10 minute long opus of "Nightmares Calling" was initially intended to be the original version on "Spacetime Continuum" as the album opener, plus the original name of the album. When I wrote the lyrics to this song, I visioned it to be mystical and creepy, and although I still prefer this version as a stand alone, I feel it didn't fit the album collectively, so I changed it to be more heavy, and make it the closer on the album instead. This song was super fun to create, and with the 3 minute instrumental intro, it really sets the tone. But definitely listen to it all at once, because the ending is phenomenal and it's one of the best pieces of music I have ever put together. Enjoy this original and alternate version of one of my personal favorites... "Nightmares Calling"!

So, this is now my 5th full length album, and my 4th Heavy Metal album overall called "Spacetime Continuum", which is a stretch musically as I challenged myself with these songs. While I was working on "For It's The End", I was writing new lyrics which included darker tones than I have in the past. I was thinking about what to write for a follow up album by continuing with more complex, intricate, and longer songs with deeper themes. So I put the ideas aside and worked on them later. I wanted to make a concept album that felt like a cross between Nightwish and Savatage, with keyboards and mystical elements within the songs and how the album flows. I added two instrumentals to help capture the overall feeling of the album. This was a fun album to make, so enjoy this piece of musical art. - Troy \m/

WELCOME TO THE SPACETIME CONTINUUM!!!

In just three more days, I'll be releasing my 4th Heavy Metal album since the conception of my songwriting rebirth in the fall of 2025. However, I've taken it a step further, and I've become more than just that, I'm also a "song creator"!!! I'm not only making songs. but I'm making themed albums, and being as creative as I can. With that said, my next album will be called "Spacetime Continuum" and it's a concept album. I'll explain more about it this Friday, May 1st, when the album drops. In the meantime, here is the 10 song previews on the album. Enjoy!

Nightmares Calling!!!
Here is the ONLY song preview off my next Heavy Metal album that will be released next week on Friday, May 1st. The name of the album is called "Spacetime Continuum", and this song here will eventually be the one and only album single, called "Nightmares Calling". This album is going to be a concept album, and it will be telling a certain kind of story, which will be explained more once the album releases next week. The musical direction is a little different too, it's still Heavy Metal, but I wrote the music and lyrics to be a little more intricate than how I normally write. However, "Nightmares Calling" is still a very traditional Metal song!

Now that my birthday has passed, and all three singles from "For It's The End" have been released, it's now time for the next Troy Donoughue Heavy Metal album. In just eight more days, on May 1st, 2026, I'll be releasing my next new album, and this one is a little different than anything I've released before (which of course is my intention, to have all my albums having complete individuality). Well, as a teaser for the album, and in as little as 48 hours from now, on Saturday, March 25th, 2026, I'll be releasing a song preview, and trust me, this song is super freaking good! Something is definitely "Calling". Stay tuned....

TODAY IS MY 57TH VISIT AROUND THE SUN!!!!
"Metal Is My Life" is the 3rd and final single off the "For It's The End" album that was released on March 17th, 2026 which was also "St. Patrick's Day". This special online only single was specifically created to represent my love for Heavy Metal music, as I am and will always be proud to be a "Metalhead"!!! All I can say is after writing songs for over 40 years, that it's about time I wrote a song about Heavy Metal and a theme song for myself! Plus there's no better way to release a song called "Metal Is My Life" than on my BIRTHDAY!!! I have also included an instrumental version of "Metal Is My Life", plus an updated metal version of "2001" that was originally recorded with my old band "Dark Alley" in 1991. And finally, I have also included a parody called "E R Denied", which is a song that only my fellow Disney Cast Members will understand. If you know, you know. (remember it's all in fun!) :P

special online only single contains the original non edited version without all those background sounds for a clearer listening of the song. I also went ahead and created a few special mixes of the song with different musical themes to add some different elements to the song. "Road Rage" is a simple song, with a simple idea, and not a lot of lyrics, but it's the feeling of the song I was trying to capture; by making a song you can listen to and actually expereince the song musically and not just lyrically. *Fair warning, don't listen to it while driving your car, it just may make you have... "Road Rage"!*

Here is the first official single off the "For It's The End" album that was released on March 17th, 2026, which was on "St. Patrick's Day". This is a song I wrote for my wonderful and beautiful wife, Mariana, called "When The Stars Align". The special online only single which has been included on my SoundClick website is a slightly edited version, plus there's an instrumental version of "When The Stars Align" as well. l have also included an instrumental version of "Invisible Wall Of Reality" that was part of the original recording sessions. And finally, as a bonus track, I went back and revisited the very first instrumental I ever wrote on the keyboard called "MSI #7", and just like the songs I rerecorded for "Steel Scream", I also updated it as a Heavy Metal version. This is a beautiful power ballad. I hope you enjoy. Te amo Mariana!

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!!!   THE END IS FINALLY HERE!!!
After weeks of promoting my new album, "For It's The End", well... the end is finally here!!! My 4th album, and my 3rd Heavy Metal album in the last 5 months. Like I said a few posts ago, this is an importnat album for me, as all 12 of these songs are brand new, songs that I worked on and completed since October of last year. I wrote all the lyrics and music in just a couple of months, however, some of the songs were lyrics I had leftover lying around over the years, and some are song titles I wanted to use for a long time as well. I always wanted to write a very diverse metal album, and I believe "For It's The End" has done just that. The lead song and the title of the album pays homage to one of my best friends who passed away 5 years go. "For It's The End" is a tribute to John HIllery Jr. I hope you enjoy my new album, and can resonate with some of the songs. This was a fun album to make. Enjoy!!! - Troy \m/

FRIDAY THE 13TH of March, 2026

With only four more days to go until I release my next Heavy Metal album, I give you my third song teaser called "Invisible Wall Of Reality"!!! Instead of telling you what the song is about, I figured I'd just leave that up to you, the listener, to decipher that for yourself. This was a fun song to write, as I tapped into uncharted territories by writing about topics of this nature, but the challenge was real, and I think I pulled it off. I hope you like it, and I hope you liked the first two song teasers as well. "For It's The End" will be released this coming Tuesday, on St. Patrick's Day, on my website and on your favorite digital platforms, so keep an eye out for my album release. In the meantime, enjoy "Invisible Wall Of Reality".

Here is the second song teaser off my new Heavy Metal album called "For It's The End", that will be released on March 17th - St. Patrick's Day. This song is called "I Believe In You", which is one of the few ballads on the album. The lyrics are short and simple, yet very effective. Just like my song "It's Never Too Late", this song was written with the belief that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Never give up, never lose faith, and just believe in yourself, cause at the end of the day, you always have yourself to believe in you more than anyone else. This song was written with some quotes that I have written down that helps me believe in myself, and I hope this helps others as well. Enjoy the song, and look out for my next teaser for "Invisible Wall Of Reality" on Friday.

THE END IS HERE! Welcome to my 3rd Heavy Metal album, set to release on March 17th - St. Patrick's Day. This is the first official teaser, which is title track and the album opener called "For It's The End". As I posted a few days ago, this album is a special release, as the 12 songs featured are brand new to my musical library. However, most of these new songs have been either ideas I had written down, or unfinished lyrics that have been laying around for a little over 10 years, but for the most part, all of the songs are brand new. This song here called  "For It's The End" is one of those songs, as I originally started writing the lyrics back in 2017, but I never fisnished them, and now it is finally complete. Enjoy "For It's The End" and look out for the next song teaser coming on Monday. - The End! -

THE END IS COMING!!! So, it was two weeks ago when I finally released my acoustic album, and now that it's out of my system, it's time to get back on track with some good 'ol regular Heavy Metal!!! My next album will be released in a little over 2 weeks on St. Patrick's Day, and until then, I'll be dropping some song teasers along the way; starting as early as this Thursday, March 5th. As a matter of fact, the name of the song I'm dropping first will be the the album's title track and the album opener. I'm excited for this release, as this is the first batch of brand new songs I've written and recorded in a little over 20 years. Some of the songs have been ideas and snippits of unfinished lyrics I had laying around since 2013, so I'm finally able to bring some of those ideas to life. But for the most part, all of these songs are brand new and ready for the world to hear. So get ready, cause like I said..... THE END IS COMING!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!   THIS METALHEAD GOES ACOUSTIC!!!
So, my 3rd full length album is going to come as a bit of a surprise, as the songs here are all acoustic guitar songs, some with a touch of country music, as well as rock. This album named "Acoustic Roots" is just that, as this is a part of me that I've always enjoyed just behind Heavy Metal. Songs on the acoustic guitar are so beautiful and haunting at the same time. In my early songwriting career, of the 40 songs I had written over 30 years ago, about 20 of them were recorded between 1992 to 2004. In the last 20 years, 20 of those original songs were unused and unrecorded. I recorded half of those songs for "Forged In Metal", and now the other half is used here for my first ever full length acoustic album. Enjoy these songs as they are rich in history, and have some deep and emotional meanings.

So as I mentioned last week, here is the second song teaser off my first acoustic album that is called "Acoustic Roots", which will be released this Saturday on Valentine's Day. This teaser is called "Lovestruck", which was originally written in 1987, and is a remake of the version that originally appeared on my "Raw Tracks" album in 2002. The original version was a piano-based song, but now it's been redone as an acoustic song. I was never fully happy with the original recording, so redoing here for "Acoustic Roots" finally gives it some justice. With an overwhelming response to my first song teaser, "Another Chance" last week, I hope "Lovestruck" will be just as enjoyable. Get ready for "Acoustic Roots" this weeeknd.

Well here it is, the first official time anyone will hear an acoustic song with me as a solo artist. Like I mentioned in my last update, of all the songs I had written in the past, there were about 20 of them that had been left over. I used half of them for my first Heavy Metal album, "Forged In Metal", and now the other half is being used for my very first acoustic album called "Acoustic Roots", which will be released next week on Valentine's Day. This song called "Another Chance" was written in July 1993, and like most of my songs from the past, it was written due to real life experiences. I hope you enjoy this rare side of myself, and enjoy the song as well. Stay tuned for another teaser song on Tuesday, February 10th!!!

"Troy Donoughue" Music is taking an unexpected turn in February; as this coming Valentine's Day, I will be releasing my last batch of older written songs, and this one is going to be an Acoustic Album!!! That's right, I am stepping out of my comfort zone! Back in November I released 10 Heavy Metal songs on my "Forged In Metal" album, as those songs have lyrics that were written with Heavy Metal songs in mind. Of the original 20 songs I had left over that I wrote in the past, the remaining 10 were either love songs, ballads, or anything with an emotional touch. In order to finally complete all of my songs from the past, and to bring them to life, the only obvious thing left for me to do was to make them all acoustic. So next week, on Friday, February 6th, keep a lookout for my first song preview, then get ready for Cupid to release my acoustic album on Valentine's Day.

"Bullets Don't Care" is the official single off the "Steel Scream" album that was released on January 8th, 2026. This special online only single included on my SoundClick website is not the same version that is on the album, as this is the "Metal Ballad Version". Ironically, "Bullets Don't Care" is the only song off "Steel Scream" that was never a song by "The Steel Scream Project", as it was a song recorded by my old band "World Affair" with Chuck Smith back in 1992. We recorded it as a ballad, so it only made sense to record it the same way for myself as well. The rest of the songs on this digital single are instrumental mixes for the songs I thought would sound good as instrumentals, and after trying all of them out, these were the best ones that came out of those sessions. \m/

Enjoy "Bullets Don't Care (Metal Ballad Version)" and stay tuned for a very special, and unique new album that I will be releasing in February...

This coming Saturday, I will be releasing the one and only single off my "Steel Scream" album called "Bullets Don't Care (The Metal Ballad Version)". I received a really good response from the "Bullets Don't Care" album teaser, so I decided to give everyone a treat and release it the way it was originally recorded with my band, "World Affair" back in 1992. There will also be 5 bonus "Steel Scream Instrumental" tracks as well. So keep an eye out for some more Troy Donoughue music this coming Saturday!

WELCOME ON THE TRAIN OF METAL WHERE YOU CAN LIVE YOUR DREAMS, ON THIS TRAIN OF SPEED WE CALL "STEEL SCREAM"!
I'm proud to announce the release of my second official, all original, full length Heavy Metal album called "Steel Scream"! Back in November of 2025, I released my first batch of new songs in about 20 years, and now that I've accomplished that, I decided to delve back into my older songs that I previoulsy recorded, and give them a fresh new take with updated Heavy Metal versions! Most of these songs came off my 2002 album "Raw Tracks" that didn't have very good sound quality, so they definitley needed an overhaul; while a couple others are from my 2004 album "Journey By Rail". The album cover is the original concept design I had for "Raw Tracks" but it never met my original idea, so now "Steel Scream" gives it the album cover and the songs that it was always intended to be. Enjoy these old, but now new Heavy Metal songs. - Troy \m/

Here it is, my first post as a solo artist in 2026, which is technically the year I was originally planning to be busy with my music, but I started early in 2025 cause of "National Metal Day" on November 11th. With that said, here is the 3rd and final song teaser off my new album called "Steel Scream" that will be released digitally on January 8th; just a few days away. This song is called "No More Love", and it's basically the "Essential Troy Song". This was the first song I ever wrote both lyrically and musically, which has seen so many variations and releases over the years. I wrote the lyrics in 1985, followed with the music in 1991. It was originally a piano ballad, and now after 40 years, it's been rightfully transformed into a Heavy Metal ballad instead. Enjoy this song and get ready for my new album, "Steel Scream"!

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, but now that Santa has brought us his cheer, it’s time for me to deliver another teaser off my upcoming album, "Steel Scream", that will be released in 10 days world wide on January 8th, 2026. This song I’m sharing today is called "Bullets Don’t Care", which is about the consequences of saying vile things, especially towards loved ones. Once words are spoken, they are like bullets that just don’t care what it hits, as it will permanently do the damage. This is a re-recording of a song by my old band called "World Affair", with Chuck Smith back in 1992. The original version was a ballad, and this new one is a Heavy Metal version (but there will be a future single release for a brand new ballad version, so watch for that). Enjoy \m/

Well, it's Christmas Eve, and you know what that means!? It means Santa Claus is delevering presents all over the world, while at the same time I am teasing my first song called "Destiny" off of my new album called "Steel Scream", that will be released on January 8th, 2026. This will be my 2nd album in 2 months, and for this one I re-recorded a bunch of old low quality songs that I did with my previous band called "The Steel Scream Project". Most of them are from my 2002 album, "Raw Tracks", while a few are from my 2004 album "Journey By Rail". The original version of "Destiny" was written in 2002 as a piano-based rock song, while here in 2025, this new one is an updated Heavy Metal version with a brand new 2nd Verse that was written in 2019 (it makes the song better). Enjoy this new song, and watch for every 5 days as a new song will drop here. Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!

It's that time of year again, no, it's not just the holiday season, but it's also time to announce another Metal masterpiece coming your way, which will be on January 8th, 2026. That's right, another Metal album by "Troy Donoughue"!!! Oh, and actually in 2026, I am planning to release a lot more albums and songs, so this is just the beginning. However, this next album is a very special release, as this will be a throwback album. I decided to re-record my old songs that I did with "The Steel Scream Project" back in 2002 & 2004. Basically, they're updated Metal versions of most of my "Raw Tracks" album, and a couple of songs from my "Journey By Rail" album as well. My first preview will be on Christmas Eve; so as Santa is delivering his Christmas presents, I will be delivering the first taste of my new album....

"It's Never Too Late" is the official single off the "Forged In Metal" album that was released on November 11th, 2025 aka "National Metal Day". This special online only single included on my SoundClick website is a slightly edited version and an instrumental version of "It's Never Too Late", plus it includes an alternate "END"ing of "All Good Things Must Come To An End" which was left off the original sessions. This release also includes, "Still Love You So" which is a poem that was turned into a song for my old friend, Florence Previe. I promised to do that for her as a favor, so I added here for her as well.

In addition, I am also working on a lot more themes and ideas for more albums and singles in the future, so keep an eye out for these each and every month....

HAPPY NATIONAL METAL DAY!!! I'm proud to announce the release of my first official, all original, full length Heavy Metal album called "Forged In Metal"! Thanks to some new technology in online music recording, I was finally able to make my dreams a reality and create my first batch of Heavy Metal songs for the world to hear. All of these 10 songs were originally written between 1984-1994, and after holding on to them for over 30 years, they are finally seeing the light of day. Each song, plus every single lyric was completly written by me, and with the help of some online tools, I was able to create the music I originally wrote for them as well, and now I have a full and complete kick ass Heavy Metal album all of my own. It's Never Too Late!
NEW TROY DONOUGHUE SONG! An upcoming teaser for my first full length Heavy Metal album coming soon!! Thanks to multiple online tools, I was able to fully construct some Heavy Metal songs of my dreams! This one titled "It's Never Too Late" was written in January of 1993, and now it finally gets the light of day. This song was written about believing in yourself, and that you can accomplish anything you set out to do. I for one am an exapmle of that, as being a songwriter, I've always wanted to complete all my musical ideas, and now I finally can do that. Just when I thought my musical adventures were over. Nope, I can still do it... It's Never Too Late!!!

Welcome to a brand new era of "Donoughue Music"!!!! On December 31st, 2024, I announced that I was officially retiring musically, but that didn't mean exclusively. What I was retiring was the "Donoughue / The Steel Scream Project" names. I felt as though I had accomplished everything I needed to do, including all the songs, albums, and videos I made for them musically. Now in 2025, I have recently found some new outlets and online tools where I can write and record my own songs with the ability to manufacture them professionally. Starting in October, I will be working on, and releasing a sloth full of music as just simply myself... "Troy Donoughue". My website will get a small overhaul, and from here forward, I will be a solo artist looking to share all my songwriting skills with the new tools I have found. A lot of exciting new things coming, so keep checking here for more.
